Good afternoon, dear friends
If you are in your 40’s like me, then you would probably remember this song being popular back in the 1970’s and it will bring back many memories to you. I have always like this song but have never really known its title nor singer but I was so happy to hear it over the radio one day and the DJ then mentioned the song name. Do listen to the song and read its lyrics below, and I highly recommend your dedicating or sending this video and lyrics to your spouse or boy/girlfriend as it has so much meaning – hehe, I had just emailed it to my husband, who would surely be surprised to receive this at work and he is now probably wondering what’s gotten over me and had me going all mushy with love suddenly!
It’s such a beautiful song, plus the video is quite amusing, too! Go on….try it and see
Have a lovely day today!
- Lovely Day by Bill Withers – released in 1977
Here are the lyrics -
When I wake up in the morning
love
and the sun light hurts my eyesAnd something without worning
love
bears heavy on my mind.
Then I look at you and the world’s alright with meJust one look at you and I know it’s gonna be -
A lovely day – lovely day
lovely day
lovely day
lovely day
Lovely day
lovely day
lovely day
lovely day.
A lovely day – lovely day
lovely day
lovely day
lovely day
Lovely day
lovely day
lovely day
lovely day.
When the day that lies ahead of me seems impossible to face
And someone else instead of me always seems to know the way
Then I look at you and the world’s alright with me
Just one look at you and I know it’s gonna be -
A lovely day – lovely day
lovely day
lovely day
lovely day
…
When the day that lies ahead of me seems impossible to face
…
A lovely day – lovely day
lovely day
lovely day
lovely day
…

Ooh I love this song too (even though I’m not in my 40s yet)! It still sounds very contemporary, doesn’t it? I remember being surprised when my hubby told me it’s a 70s song.

Oh, you love this song, too? Yes, although the lyrics are very simple but it has a lot of meaning and sounds contemporary like you said. Here’s another 70’s Love Song specially for your hubby to dedicate to you, dear camemberu. It is my favourite song….

More Than A Woman by Bee Gees -
Oh, girl Ive known you very well
Ive seen you growing everyday
I never really looked before
But now you take my breath away.
Suddenly youre in my life
Part of everything I do
You got me working day and night
Just trying to keep a hold on you.
Here in your arms I found my paradise
My only chance for happiness
And if I lose you now I think I would die.
Oh say youll always be my baby
We can make it shine, we can take forever
Just a minute at a time.
More than a woman, more than a woman to me
More than a woman, more than a woman to me
More than a woman, oh, oh, oh.
There are stories old and true
Of people so in love like you and me
And I can see myself
Let history repeat itself.
Reflecting how I feel for you
Thinking about those people then
I know that in a thousand years
Id fall in love with you again.
This is the only way that we should fly
This is the only way to go
And if I lose your love I know I would die.
Oh say youll always be my baby
We can make it shine, we can take forever
Just a minute at a time.
More than a woman, more than a woman to me
More than a woman, more than a woman to me
More than a woman, oh, oh, oh.
With love, harmony and peace,
